Tasks now show their customer on the list

A task created from a customer file now carries the customer's name onto My work and the Work desk — a chip that opens her file in one click, and her number when she has no name yet.

When you set a task from a customer's file — follow up to arrange a meeting, call back on Thursday — the task is filed there, tied to the person, and lands on the list its owner opens every day. That is exactly where the trouble started: on the list, the row said nothing but its title. "Follow up to arrange a meeting" — for whom? At which number? Whoever the task was handed to either stuffed the name and number into the title, or searched for the file again, one row at a time.

Now the customer stays with the task. On My work and the Work desk, every task that came off a customer file shows a small chip beside its title — a person icon and the customer's name — and the name is a link straight to her file: numbers, reminders and the whole conversation, one click from the row you were reading. A customer who has no name yet is named by her number, which identifies her just as surely.

The chip passes through the same door every customer name on a list passes through. Where a customer's audience is restricted, the row stays on your list but the name stays covered — "Restricted customer", no link. The work is yours; the file is not.

Nothing to set up, either. Tasks that were created from a customer file before this change show their customer too: the list reads the customer off the task itself, not off the day it was made.

One person, all their work — each rep's open leads and tasks on one page

A name on the Sales reps screen now opens that person's own page: the leads in their hands with their pipeline stage, the open tasks assigned to them with project and due date, and a red "No next follow-up date" badge beside any lead nobody has promised to call.

A lead only moves with a promise of its next call

Moving a lead to an open column — across the board or from the customer file — is now refused until the lead holds an open follow-up date. Won and lost are exempt: they end the story.

Deal figures on the lead sheet: from the rep's estimate to the final sale

The estimated value, the proposal amount and the final sale price now live on the lead sheet — kept separately for each business, typed in the business's own currency, with every change written to the lead's history and the estimate shown on the pipeline card.
